"In the blink of an eye, I became tethered to the architecture... Over the river, Over-the-Rhine. And, though I'm not from here, last night felt close to home." - Malcolm London, Chicago poet, activist and musician.

A City Illuminated

For four days, October 12-15, BLINK Cincinnati transformed 20-city blocks stretching from Cincinnati's riverfront Banks neighborhood, through the downtown Central Business District into Over-the-Rhine in a showcase of the spectacle of light.

Attracting more than 1 million visitors, the inaugural fete was the largest of-its-kind in the nation and featured large-scale projection mapping, murals, urban artscapes, media light, interactive art and diverse, eclectic entertainment. It also united the region.

“BLINK brought people together across beliefs, cultures, neighborhoods and nations to celebrate Cincinnati as an innovative, inclusive and creative future city," said Tim Maloney, BLINK founder and president and CEO of the Carol Ann and Ralph V Haile, Jr./U.S. Bank Foundation.

BLINK was the vision of local creative minds The Agar, ArtWorks, Brave Berlin, the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber and the generous the Carol Ann and Ralph V Haile, Jr./U.S. Bank Foundation.
